Viacom Sues YouTube for 1 billion dollars

Media giant Viacom, which owns numerous TV channels such as MTV, filed a lawsuit against YouTube (owned by Google) for $1 billion. Viacom claims that YouTube allows users to upload significant amounts of copyrighted material. According to Viacom, 160,000 infringing movies have been uploaded by YouTube users and it will not tolerate such blatant infringement of its rights. See more details in the report linked below.
